SPAWAR, Karen Cooke, asked Matthew Vargyas to connect her with the Chemistry teacher

Samonte – Media Tech said he is taking senior students to TTC on Friday to tour media arts, film dept

Film students created commercials for school clients. Can do commercials for Academy Partners next year too

Samonte goals for next year is to have all students do a job shadow

Would like Seniors to do a full portfolio

Robin suggested that Richard Almes be asked to critique and give students feedback


Gantt/Dooley taking 10 kids to SPAWAR, visiting graphics and marketing

Quest team took 1st place in film/video

Gantt goal for next year would be for Juniors and Seniors to do job shadow


PLTW participated in Quest competitions

Vargyas would like the PLTW computer integrated manufacturing class to go see CNC machine in industry, not TTC


Mr. Raycroft said that Principals recently discussed partnering with specific courses instead of whole pathways


Mr. Raycroft said that we want to make sure we are exposing students not just to TTC programs but to industry sites/people as well.


Goal for next year:

Robin said we can do lots of job shadows if we have very specific information at the beginning of the school year.

  • Student name
  • Teacher name
  • name of course
  • 2 specific days they can do the job shadow
  • Do they have their own transportation?

Mr. Raycroft would like to focus on Teacher Externships next year


Watermissions is ready for students to come – valuable knowledge for all CTE classes

Set up a teacher externship


SPAWAR said that with preplanning they can tailor a site visit to specific class and specific standard
