Present: Cindy Helms/Elliott Davis, Jeremy Granson/USCG, Carla Ferrette-Clark/IT Staff Present:  Suzi Raiford

Jeremy Granson, USCG, had the opportunity to meet Chef Kim as she conducted a fundraiser with her students featuring beignets.

Carla Ferrette-Clark:

Bryan Powers, ECPI instructor, provided hands-on IT activities in the classroom.  Activities included training, networks, breaking down computers and rebuilding, ethical hacking, and they made cables.  ECPI also hosted students for a facility tour.

Carla’s goals include increasing supplies, incorporating technical writing and reading, developing an IT library, increase certification opportunities.

Planning:

Chad Vail: Provided an overview of the CCSD CTE website resources including work-based learning documents for student job shadows.  Carla will coordinate with Chad to secure approximately 10 student job shadow opportunities.  There was discussion about Carla delivering a lesson on the website documents and possibly implement a student research project to complete informational interview/tours with businesses.

Cindy:

May: Classroom speakers: Cindy and/or Elliott Davis Programmer.  Tentative tour of the IT equipment set-up in late April/early May according to the status of their office renovations.

Jeremy:

Recommended a facility tour of the USCG IT facility in North Charleston.

Upcoming meetings:

Fourth Annual All Academy Debrief, May 2, 3:30-5:00 pm, Charleston Metro Chamber Boardroom.
