Whitney will send the SC Youth Suicide Prevention and Mental Health First Aid flyers to be distributed via email. CDMHS is hosting a Stratford HS tour.
Tabb/Summerville HS: 8 students qualified for HOSA National competition.
Melissa/WAHS: 1 out of 10 students qualified for HOSA Nationals, students attended the TTC Career Fair, Bon Secours St. Francis is a long-time partner and hosting student job shadows the week of March 20.
Sonya/BCSD: Awesome reviews about Discover MUSC, well-organized, mix of technology, cyber security, child life specialist. Recommendation to have media-technology students video tape the 2018 event. BCSD had several students place second and third in HOSA State competition. Plans are underway for the student CNA certification course this summer.
Liz/Mitchell/MUSC: photos to come soon, Mark Your Calendars for March 2, 2018 (no HOSA conflict), some students had to get back on the bus and missed the closing activity, information about degree transfers, and the assessment, teachers and chaperones will receive the survey via email and this feedback is very important.
Nadine/DD2: 5 first place and 5 second and third place students going to HOSA Nationals. HOSA 2018: March 7-9.
Katie/Berkeley HS: students skyping sessions with SC Aquarium.
Nancy/LGC: Allied health research shows fewer young people are interested in gerontology. Health Science 2 includes Life Stages and there are great opportunities for work based learning at facilities like Bishop Gadsden.
